Don’t let summer heat destroy your budget

Instead, I have programmed the HVAC to allow the heat to rise in the house during the peak heating hours.

Where I live, there aren’t a lot of superlatives when it comes to describing the summer heat. It just is something that we all generally just have to grind our way through. Of course, there would be no grinding through a summer for me without HVAC. And, I’m not talking about a window air conditioner in the bedroom window. No, I need comprehensive HVAC that does the job in a reliable and efficient manner. Otherwise, I don’t think I could get through the heat. Growing up, I remember when a lot of my neighbors would actually leave the region for cooler latitudes. I mean, they just got out of town. To this day, I’m not sure how they managed that. But, that’s not an option for me. Not even close. However, I do my best with the HVAC. Yet, there is an amount of discipline that is involved as well. I know that I have to maintain keen awareness when it comes to the HVAC setting. There is no way that the house temperature and the outside temperature are ever going to be 30 degrees apart. That is a waste and just ridiculous. Instead, I have programmed the HVAC to allow the heat to rise in the house during the peak heating hours. Then, as the sun lowers in intensity, the HVAC starts dropping the temperature to a cooler level. It doesn’t take all that much to keep HVAC utility costs in line. However, if your not paying attention, HVAC costs will hit you hard right in the wallet.
