The fitness coach guided me and I never felt sick at all
I was taken aback when I got a diagnosis of post orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. In short, it means that my heart rate goes through the roof when I stand up for more than a few minutes. The doctors have no idea how I got this condition. I suspect it might have been from that really bad virus I got back in March. Whatever the case, I feel like I’m going to pass out if I can’t keep my feet elevated at all times. That’s why I was so surprised when my doctor suggested that I join a gym. Working out was the last thing on my mind. After all, I can’t even go to the grocery store without my heart getting up to about 144 beats per minute. However, my doctor gave me a workout plan to start with. It encompasses a lot of reclining type exercises I can do to get my body back into shape. The rowing machine and the recumbent bicycle are high on the list.I decided to go ahead and join the gym and try to get a handle on this illness. The first day was absolute hell. I literally passed out in the locker room. After I got home from the hospital, I was determined never to try that again. But then the gym gave me a call at home and made sure that I was all right. I explained my health concerns and I was very surprised that the gym offered a free Fitness coach to help me on my road to recovery. After resting a bit, I decided to go back to the gym on Monday. I’m so glad I did. The fitness coach guided me and I never felt sick at all. In fact, I felt empowered. I will be going back and working with this fitness coach again.
